Having spent the last 2 weeks in Japan really opened my eyes to their local car culture and the people behind them. Be it the JDM rides, Hotrods or the European marques. Words will be minimal in my articles because I am not a writer and you don’t see any previous articles being penned by me. 🙂 Information about the cars is quite little due to the very fact I don’t speak any Japanese except for random words learnt from watching anime. I’ll let the photos do the talking.

Off to Nagoya and the Exciting car showdown at Nagoya Port Messe was my destination for the day. The Shinkansen made sure I was on the dot for all my travels and brought me to my second car show in Japan. The Odaiba Volkswagen Jamboree (story for another article) was the first and it blew me away because it’s a different kind of exposures from what we get in our little island of Singapore.

Connecting Kinjo-Futo was the beautiful Isewagan, sadly didn’t get to experience any wangan action during the trip.

The structure of the dome itself made an interesting element to the photographs.

What greeted me upon entering the hall was a car, specifically a Hachiroku, one that I usually get to see in those Option and Best Motoring videos years back. Dori-kin’s AE86.

The team from NATS(Automotive School) brought out their version of this pretty F220 GTO. Audiences were having a go at torquing down different parts of an engine and getting a heads up on what’s to be expected at such a school.

Sitting hard on customed colored TE37s just opposite Keiichi Tsuchiya’s AE86 is Daijiro Inada’s SR swapped Celica. (I wasn’t sure that the show was held at Nagoyo Port Messe till I saw a Youtube video of him promoted the event.)

Exactly how I would rock an S15, some pretty aggressive aero and a set of Works Emotion CR Kais. So much eye candy and this is only the entrance.

Track Prepped Mitsubishi GTO.

The HellaFlush movement here is also huge, judging from the cars here in the exhibition as seen on this Kouki S14 and the previous HellaFlush event held in Japan.

Another interesting detail of the car was the paint job on the hood of the car, spotted at least another 2 other cars with the same style.

J’s Racing also brought out their carbon clad wide bodied S2000.

A sea of purple from the D-max booth

I believe this car needs no introduction. Its the Veilside 4509 GTR. This beast of a car seriously stopped me in my tracks with the workmanship and details put into the car. I love it, aesthetics is subjective. 😛

A trio of Silvias at the Boss booth.

There was really an overdose of the S-chassis at the event as seen here at GP Sport with their 180SXs.

RE Amemiya and their creation that has such smooth body lines.

Pit Crew’s R34 GTR.

And a sexy matt black Chaser done right.

I believe most people remember the SS Work’s CRX that laps Tsukuba, this is their AE86.

The engine is moved back so much to give better weight distribution to the already feather weight Hachiroku.

That’s all for part 1 of the Nagoya Exciting Car Showdown. Will be back with part 2 asap, I know we are late, please bear with us.
