Let’s Stance @ Kallang Carpark F

Text by : Ray Ng, Photos by : Wei Yu, Tecky

When I was in Taiwan, a friend of mine posted a poster of an upcoming meet called “Let’s Stance”. It was co-organised by many local and neighbouring Malaysian car enthusiasts. I agreed that I would go, but wouldn’t bother to wash my car or polish it due to it being a dimly-lit public venue, I could always leg it if authorities arrived and deem it to be an unlawful assembly (despite it being just a normal car meet).

I admit that I autosol-ed the lips.

The clock ticked past 11pm on the 18th of May. A miniscule gathering of friends gathered to embark on a 300+ KM drive up to Sepang International Circuit, to act as a support and pit crew for a friend who was participating in the Time To Attack, organized by ZerotoHundred.com.

Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore : Banzai Attack!

Text by : Randy F, Photos by : Randy F

It has been a week since the inaugural Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore was held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center. The event attracted many car enthusiasts from around the region. Photos have been circulating around the internet and audiences that graced the event experienced first hand what the Japanese car tuning scene could offer. Let us now take a look at the highlights of this car show that had thousands flocking to the venue. It was 9am on the first day of the event, and the media was set and ready for a preview of the offerings, just before the gates opened to the public at 10am.

The first car that stood before me was one that was familiar, one that I came across during the Nayoga Exciting Car Showdown – the Re Amemiya Rx7. I believe there are enough photos around the net showcasing Amemiya san’s smooth flowing creation. A definite high of the show.

Moon of Japan : MoonEyes Yokohama

Text by : Randy F, Photos by : Randy F

2012 was a hectic but eventful year with a sensational trip to the Land of the Rising Sun. Followers of our blog would most certainly recall my recollection of these adventures from earlier posts last year. There are still a couple of undertakings from these Japan exploits that I must share with you guys, and Moon Eyes Yokohama is one of them. I braved the blistering cold of the coast of Yokohama, traversing on foot from ASM to the peculiar locale where American influence has descended upon like a whirlwind. My mind was reeling and my heart palpitated wildly as I pondered about the clandestine American iron horses that I will be viewing? Was the arduous walk worth it or will it be the story of a poor wayfaring stranger?

Tokyo Singapore Salon Singapore 2013

Text by : Randy F, Photos by : Randy F / Organizers

It was at a local motor show over a decade ago that I had my foremost encounter
with the Japanese car-tuning scene. The Kodak disposable cameras in their
trademark yellow casing were all the rage back than. I still recall vividly the flashes
from these devices going off brilliantly through out the venue, as their owners
endeavored to capture the JDM models and rides on film. To date, it is still one of
the finest motor shows ever held in Singapore in my books.

AW-1160x1805mm-for-upload Fast-forward to 2013 and we have Singapore’s principle media company MediaCorp, in cooperation with Muse Group, bringing Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore 2013 to the shores of our tiny nation-state. The inaugural Singapore show will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo® and Convention Centre from 12-14 April 2013.

Update: Benjamin’s AE86

Words by : Ray Ng Photos by : Neo

It’s almost a year since we featured Benjamin”s AE86 here. To many of those residing overseas, an AE86 wouldn’t mean much to begin with, or cost much so as to speak.

A second look at this AE86 since last year.

Sadly living in Singapore, all our cars here are slapped with a 10-year certification that is worth around USD$80,000 that allows the cars to be on the roads. Owning a car here is like having a depreciating asset pegged to the years left on that piece of paper. Cars like the AE86, would have renewed this certificate at its age.

Events: VW Scirocco Meetup

Words by : Ray Ng, Photos by : Cyber Imp

The Right Wrong crew were invited to cover a VW Scirocco meet up held at Kallang Leisure Park. The gathering venue was initially planned at Big Splash overlooking the beach however due to parking constraints the group decided to amend that plan.

Quite a turnout!

The showcase of cars did not limit to Sciroccos or Rocs, as some of them coined that name only, there were a few Golfs, all from the Volkswagen family.

Yes you did.
