Feature : The Cleanest Evo X on the streets

Two weeks ago we held a little Evolution family gathering. The owner of this car, Alastair was sporting enough make himself available TWICE on public holidays instead of spending time with his family just to attend our shoots. The Evolution gathering HERE was done on Christmas day itself and this particular one you are currently reading was done on New Year’s day. It’s almost becoming a TheRightWrong tradition to celebrate special occasions this way. Not a bad tradition I must say.

Only missing cherry blossoms

It is not very often that a photographer will be satisfied with their photos. There are that handful of people that think ownership of an expensive camera makes them automatically transform into a professional photographer. This might purely be my opinion but I believe there is a basic essential that differentiates great photographers. The makings of a great photographer is one that is never or at the very least, seldom satisfied with their own work. Take a little time with an open mind and understand the logic behind this and you’ll understand where I’m going with this. Of course if you have a different opinion, whining on the comment box at the bottom of this feature and our Facebook is always available.

Feature : An Evolution family gathering

Here at TheRightWrong.net, we’re extremely fond of threesomes. This time is no exception. More importantly, this threesome shows the evolution of the Evolution. From the CP9A platform, to the CT9A and ultimately the current CZ4A. We were unable to get hold of an Evo 3 for this shoot because the last and only remaining Evo 3 in Singapore is currently on sale at some car dealer’s shop. Sad to say, the lack of Evo 3s on local streets is the result of the motoring system in Singapore.

Its a system that tries to make every car owner change their cars every 10 years; in addition to being indebted to the bank for another 10 years. It’s as though it is done on purpose to make us enthusiast serve our lives in slavery to the cars we love. Of course this is only applicable if you are not one of the fortunate people that can afford to pay $200,000SGD in cash for a car.

We were contemplating the thought of including an “Evo 3″ by using a Lancer to Evolution convert but ultimately decided against it.

If this was going to be an Evolution shoot, it was going to be a legitimate Evolution shoot.

We also specifically picked these 3 cars because we wanted to showcase how the overseas styles and cultures have influenced the local car culture.

Reader’s Submission : Black & Blue Evo X

As most of you know, Mitsubishi launched the Lancer Evolution X in 2008. This black and blue Evo X was sent in to us by reader named Trey. Readers can submit their rides by following the instructions in the “About” Section. Alternatively, you can also post pictures of your ride on our Facebook page Here

While I am a huge lover of Evolutions regardless of which model, the stock Evo in general looks like… Well, quite literally almost exactly like a Lancer with it’s tall (stock) ride height. The Evo 6 and downwards and Evo X in particular with the Lancer and Evolution sharing the same body. Trey however differentiated himself by dressing up his Evo up with lots of little carbon fiber parts that accentuated and enhanced the lines of the Evo X. The car is sitting aggressively on Rota Grids and overall styling is clean and effective. Undoubtedly, the performance of an Evo X is also assured with its 2liter Turbocharged 4B11. With such a killer combination of styling and performance will leave many of this car’s competitors black and blue.

Keep reading TheRightWrong.net for a shoot of this car and many others in the near future.
