Sepang International Circuit : Time to Attack Round 1

Text by : Randy F, Photos by : Randy F

The clock ticked past 11pm on the 18th of May. A miniscule gathering of friends gathered to embark on a 300+ KM drive up to Sepang International Circuit, to act as a support and pit crew for a friend who was participating in the Time To Attack, organized by ZerotoHundred.com.

Feature : All that’s Black is Carbon Fiber.

Text by : Ben Wong, Photos by : RandyF & Shane

“All that glitters is gold”. Ever heard of that phrase being used in modern times? Probably not unless you live in Dubai where people actually gold plate their entire cars in 24k gold. So what does a modern more realistic country like Singapore have?

“All that’s black is carbon fiber”.

It is a much more modern phrase and something that a lot of tuner cars can use, much like the 50 shades of grey GTR featured previously. On TheRightWrong, we feature the very best of Singapore’s automotive scene as long as we have access to them. Some are street rollers, some are fully build off-road registered track cars but mostly are maniac level modded street cars. This time however……

Is no different.

Events: MPT Supersprint at Kallang Leisurepark Teaser

Text by : Ray Ng, Photos by : Tecky

The MPT Group brought back the drag race that was once part of Singapore’s motor racing history. As Singapore is land scarce, the race is actually being held within a parking lot, and the drag strip is only 180 metres long. There are actually many other viable venue alternatives like the Changi Exhibition Centre, F1 Pit Centre, or even closing half a section of a long straight public road.

Update: Benjamin’s AE86

Words by : Ray Ng Photos by : Neo

It’s almost a year since we featured Benjamin”s AE86 here. To many of those residing overseas, an AE86 wouldn’t mean much to begin with, or cost much so as to speak.

A second look at this AE86 since last year.

Sadly living in Singapore, all our cars here are slapped with a 10-year certification that is worth around USD$80,000 that allows the cars to be on the roads. Owning a car here is like having a depreciating asset pegged to the years left on that piece of paper. Cars like the AE86, would have renewed this certificate at its age.

Random Snaps : 7 day jealousy

It was 7 day yesterday, held every year on the 7th of July (7 / 7 / 2012). A once a year celebration and gathering for RX7 owners. Every year I look forward to seeing coverage of 7 day meets from around the world, a gathering of one of the sexiest and most timeless designs ever produced in Mazda history. Feeling a little jealous that Singapore had no 7 day celebration, I called for an impromptu and very last minute miniature scale 7 day celebration.

Only… There were no 7s around at all. Just a 6, an 8, lots of 9s and one lonely 10.

Here’s a quick pic of the cars in attendance. More pictures coming soon!

Great people, met new people, made new friends! Thanks to all who came!
