WHAT? That's almost a 4 month delay in getting these photos up! What have you been doing during this time? - That would probably be your first reaction when looking at this post. I took a whole bunch of pictures intending to post them up the minute I got back from my trip to Sydney Australia. School projects, exams and pretty much everything else had a lot to say about that though. New, locally shot features also took greater priority and I ended up working on those first, never getting around to putting these WTAC photos up. So here I am, stuck with a whole lot of pictures that was meant for the blog but never been used. No sense in letting them go to waste so I will still post them up, despite the 4 month delay. So lets have a brief recap about what World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC) was like for me shall we? When I decided on heading to WTAC, it just made simple sense that I should take photos for coverage on this blog. The problem? I DON'T TAKE PHOTOS! I have used Neo's camera once or twice and know the basics of it but I have never actually figured out how to take decent photos. All I have ever done was write while I left the photography to the professionals. Those professionals also needed their cameras for work and so, I could not borrow their cameras for my 2 week trip. There was a lot doubt whether or not I would even be able to provide any sort of coverage on WTAC. 1 month before I was due to make the trip over to Sydney, I finally made the decision to purchase myself a Canon Eos 7D, just to be capture a few photos of the entire event. The pictures you see before you was probably the 3rd or 4th time I've ever used a camera so admittedly, they aren't as good as they could have been. I didn't even have any idea of how to use photoshop back then, so.... you get the idea. Here's WTAC Day 1 and Day 2. The sound of wastegates, exhaust screams filled the air while this V8 royal purple UTE rolled in on the way to entering the Sydney motorsports park compound from the parking area. Saturday was notably much more empty then when everything was running at full swing on Sunday. Couldn't stop grinning to myself upon seeing this sign. Several years of longing finally come true. The legends of Era cars on display. Many of the old time rally cars were out on display. The first race car I saw, Massive GT wing and all, Mercedes C Class AMG. Spotted this little devil hidden away under the stairs American muscle Mad Mike's 20B RX8 getting at tyre swap show grounds were empty on Saturday. show and shine was only held on Sunday If I ever need sponsors, I'll be sure to approach Royal Purple first. Wish I could pull a fast and furious on that truck. Yonas from JDMYard and his EGK-24A, admired by EG owners around the world including our very own Neo who drew much inspiration from his car! Sitting at the Hankook booth. And also at the Hankook both sat this crazy Altezza With an engine that just looked mad, but I still have no idea what engine is that. If you do be sure to leave a comment! This car has been on the web for several years now, those are legit 24k gold plates RE30 rims! First saw this sexy S15 from SX developments featured by The-lowdown.com. So many rims that you would struggle to find in Singapore. The MoTeC people were displaying their car for the 2013 V8 super cars season. They also gave us a couple of MoTeC caps to keep our ears warm from the crazy cold winds! The cool thing about WTAC is that the race cars actually drive straight through the crowd into their pit garages. The girls from Just car insurance were more then willing to flaunt their assets the whole day. No complaints here! Sparco booth where I picked up a pair of Sparco shoes, not the racing shoes but casual shoes similar to the kind sold at Puma for just 100 AUD! Stretched combi that all the drivers arrived to the track in. Sunday had a lot more going for WTAC. They had more cars on display including a show and shine area for street cars to participate! These were lined up along the entrance on the way in. Not quite sure of those rims, but to each his own! Sunday also had more race queens present as the Advan race queens were trying to get a photo of the NOS powered bicycle also on display by the entrance. Flown from Japan, these are the authentic JDM girls! Some how be able to brace the cold in those short skirts while I had to be wrapped up like a popiah. Couple of GTR engines on display at the High octane booth. They also brought Team Orange down from Japan for the drift competition. Team Orange looked a little different then expected... And Made Mike's mad bull was screaming as loud as it could. Hankook babes were all smiles parading the grounds. Look closely, The bike is Turbo charged. Over at the show and shine area the first car that caught my eye was this Matt black R34 GTR and those sexy as hell deep dish rims. I was surprised to see a Japanese cop car on street plates on site. Never knew people still had a thing for rim styling like this! This Rx7 had an airbrush job that even covered the engine bay. The details on the airbrushing was fantastic. Engine bay was wire tucked, chromed and airbrushed. buggin. S15 from our previous feature Oliver! Thats a Boss GS, one of the sickest VIP cars in the entire show grounds. And here's my heaven, Evos EVERY WHERE! Some brought their R/C cars out to pass the time. This clean FC on CE28s was getting unloaded from the tow truck to be put on display. Our buddies from Club ITR out representing Kevin's car that won the Just JDM prize. I did a mini shoot for him HERE. And.. That's all the photos I have! There will be more back dated articles and photos coming up soon so be sure to check back regularly!
